Weiner Involved in Car Accident

"This morning, on the F.D.R. Drive, there was a chain reaction car accident," the spokeswoman, Barbara Morgan, said on Saturday.

Mr. Weiner was a passenger in the car. He then went to Washington, where he took part in ceremonies marking the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.

"All are O.K.," Ms. Morgan said in a statement. "Anthony is appreciative to the F.D.N.Y. and E.M.S. for their quick and expert response."

Mr. Weiner, a former congressman and city councilman, led the crowded Democratic mayoral primary field in polls soon after entering the race in May, but his numbers dropped significantly after he acknowledged, late last month, having continued to send explicit messages and photographs to women after resigning from the House of Representatives in 2011.

A spokesman for the New York Police Department said the accident involved three cars, but provided no other details.
